History of the Forum
The German Forum in Moinești was founded on January 16, 1993. Mr. Friedrich Martin Peck, then chair of the DFD Bacău (Democratic Forum of Germans in Bacău), and Mr. Vladimir Semakovski, accountant, participated in the founding meeting. A board was elected with the following members: At the founding meeting, 31 members enrolled in the forum. Since then, however, their number has decreased due to relocations to other towns, emigration to Germany, and deaths. As the forum did not have its own premises, the members met every second Saturday of each month at the town's Elementary School No. 1
Activities and priorities

Language Promotion & Regional Cooperation
A German course was organised for forum members, taught by Ms. Adele Schiller Sălvăstru. The DFD Moinești actively participates in the joint cultural events of the German forums from Bacău County, namely DFD Bacău, DFD Onești, and DFD Buhuși

Youth & Environmental Projects in the Pine Forest
Other activities include joint projects with the Leonhardt Foundation from Bacău. For example, a summer camp was organised in the Moinești pine forest, where children learned to paint. Children of forum members and students from the Ștefan Luchian school in Moinești also participated. Another project involved children engaged in environmental conservation, maintaining the pine forest and other landscapes. The forum chair gave a presentation on the sustainable use of wood species in the woodworking industry, and the students then visited a wood processing plant (SC Romcapes SA). At a summer camp with a complex theme, Mr. Roth spoke about the Second World War from a soldier's perspective, and Mr. Britz gave a lecture on the founding of the German state

Remembrance culture & intercultural dialogue with ‘Tristan Tzara’
Another joint project was undertaken with the "Tristan Tzara" Cultural Association and the Orthodox Church of Moinești to commemorate the German soldiers who fell in the war with a plaque. This plaque was mounted on a pedestal in the Moinești cemetery. The Moinești Forum has also collaborated with the cultural association "Tristan Tzara," headed by Prof. Vasile Robciug, on other projects. These include the production of a CD about Johann Wolfgang Goethe and the German-language articles about the Dada cultural movement, given that one of the movement's founders (Tristan Tzara) came from Moinești
